When it comes to newborn, family, and maternity photography, clients often have several common questions. Here are some frequently asked questions (FAQs) that might help answer any questions you might have.

Newborn Session FAQs

When is the best time to book a newborn session?

- It’s best to book your session during pregnancy, ideally in the second trimester, to secure a spot within the first two weeks after birth. Part of this reason is why I offer a free maternity shoot when you book your newborn shoot with me.

What should we expect during the newborn session?

- Sessions typically last between 2-3 hours to allow for feeding, changing, and soothing. We’ll take breaks as needed to keep your baby comfortable.

What should we bring to the session?

- Bring any props or outfits you’d like to use, along with essentials like diapers, wipes, and a pacifier. You might also want to have a warm blanket or favorite toy for comfort.

Can we include siblings in the newborn photos?

- Absolutely! Including siblings is encouraged, but we’ll discuss how to best arrange that for everyone's comfort.

What if my baby doesn’t cooperate?

- Babies can be unpredictable, and that’s completely normal. We’ll work at your baby's pace, and I’ll capture your Bub’s little personality with how they are on the day. I wouldn’t worry, I always get the shot.

Family Session FAQs

What is the best time of year for family photos?

- It often depends on personal preference and location, but many families prefer spring and Autumn for mild weather and beautiful natural settings. Personally, I love winter sunsets because they’re nice and early and generally avoid that witching hour time.

How long will the session last?

- Family sessions typically last between 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on the size of the family.

What should we wear for our family photos?

- Coordinating outfits are encouraged, but avoid overly matching. Choose colors and styles that complement each other for a cohesive look. If you’re unsure text me with what you have. I have some beautiful dresses in my client wardrobe that you can use swell.

Can we bring props to the session?

- Yes! Props can add a personal touch to your photos. Just let me know in advance what you’d like to bring.

What if it rains on the day of our session?

- These days being a photographer also means being a meteorologist. I usually wait til 24 hours before your shoot to confirm the weather. We can either reschedule or look for an indoor location, depending on your preference.

Maternity Session FAQs

When should I schedule my maternity session?

- The best time is usually between 28-34 weeks, when your belly is nicely rounded but you’re still comfortable moving around.

What should I wear for my maternity photos?

- Flowy dresses that highlight your bump are popular, but feel free to bring along different outfits to capture various looks. I have a range of dresses you can wear aswell.

Can my partner and children be included in the maternity session?

- Yes! Including family members can make the session more meaningful and personal.

How long does a maternity session typically last?

- Maternity sessions usually last about 30 minutes to an hours, allowing time for different poses and outfit changes.

Where will the session take place?

- We can shoot in a location of your choice, whether it’s a studio, outdoor setting, or your home. You can also check out my locations section on my website to see how they look.

How long will it take to receive our photos?

- Typically, you can expect to receive your edited photos within 2-4 weeks after the session.

Do you offer digital files, prints, or albums?

- Yes, All full priced sessions come with prints of your chosen images. I provide a variety of packages that include digital files and options for prints and albums.

What if we need to reschedule?

- Life happens! Just let me know as soon as possible, and we can discuss rescheduling options.

How do we secure our booking?

- A deposit is usually required to hold your session date, with the remaining balance due before or on the day of the session.

Are you insured?

- Yes, I carry liability insurance, which can provide peace of mind for clients.
